Heads up, Wiibrew developers! Here's the latest version of LibOGC, the premiere library for Wii and GameCube homebrew development. This version now has support for the Wiimote. Here's what else is new on release 20080602:

Lua for Wii
Lua is a powerful scripting language, used by a lot of programmers because its fast, small, and powerful. It's a popular language in the PSP homebrew scene, and was also used to make the GUI for World of Warcraft. Now, Wiibrewers also get the chance to code in Lua.
This release is called Lua for Wii, and comes from homebrew developer Feesh!

Homebrew development on the Wii console is still in a relatively fledgeling state. With its lack of development libraries and other tools, it's no small wonder why so many people are a bit hesitant about starting their own homebrew projects on the Wii platform

Developers Chaosteil and Feesh! recently announced the new bugfix release to libwiisprite, stepping up this useful development tool to version 0.1.9

Box2D for the Wii
Here's good news for Wiibrew devs out there. Introducing Box2D for the Wii! Box2D is an engine primarily designed for emulating 2D physics. I was recently also used in the creation of WiiPhysics, a new physics playground program from Beardface. To use the program, copy the contents of libbox2d to your libogc/ folder
LibOSK
Here's a new development tool for Wiibrew developers. Called LibOSK, it's an on-screen keyboard for applications written using libwiisprite. A demo is included along with the download for easy reference. LibOSK is completely configurable via a config file. You can change the images, font, and language that was used in the keyboard
