1.5 Custom Firmware - Media Edition
Gameshark has created the first "custom" firmware package that has all the abilities of a 1.50 PSP, but has the added media capabilities and codecs of 2.0+.
At the moment, you can only run this custom firmware using MPH's Firmware Launcher. Do not try to use this package as an actual upgrade

IF YOU UPGRADE TO THIS FIRMWARE VERSION YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY HOMEBREW. However, you can downgrade back down to 1.50 by using the MPH downgrader tool found in our Hacks&Exploits section.

PSP Firmware 2.01 File (EBOOT) North America
IF YOU UPGRADE TO THIS FIRMWARE VERSION YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY HOMEBREW. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO WAY TO DOWNGRADE ONCE YOU HAVE UPGRADED TO 2.01, SO YOU WILL BE STUCK WITH THIS FIRMWARE VERSION.

This is the 1.50 firmware for PSP. To upgrade from a lower firmware version to this version, unzip the file and place the included EBOOT.PBP file on the memorystick at this location: MS:PSPGAMEUPDATEEBOOT.PBP
