Fortunately, developer Kloups realized this and compiled a list of useful homebrew apps which can help users streamline their handhelds for homebrew use
LRJ System
The developer trio of Romane93, GBP ight, and julientheboss38 are back with us again, with a new update for their LRJ System homebrew for the Sony PSP. This app, in case you're a first time reader, is a Lua-coded shell application that carries features like an mp3 player, an image viewer, and a memstick reader.

Developer zx-81 visited the QJ.NET Forums earlier to announce the release of a new build for the PSP-PDA application. This homebrew app, in case you weren't around during the previous releases, is a set of PDA programs built to run for the the Sony handheld.
The original PSP-PDA was created by Rob_psp, and is currently released under a GNU licence

Homebrew developer Darksidious has released PSP tools v0.1A. This application was coded in C/C++ and combines various utility programs into one package.
The homebrew allows users to create a Pandora battery, format the flash1 sector, delete your internet history, and more

j3r3mie over at the QJ.NET PSP Development Forums is letting the community know that developer Kloups has recently released Tool Box version 3. This application is the coder's modified version of Jas0nuk's Pandora Elf Menu homebrew, and carries several essential AddOns

Akez mentions that PSP Wave Changer has been tested on 3.52 M33-2 firmware, so Akez isn't sure whether it'll work on other firmware types
