  OpenAlpha episode 8

Some people might not have heard of OpenAlpha, as i didn't even know it existed until today. OpenAlpha is a vidcast about video games, gadgets, and technology in general.

In this episode, the 8th in the series, features Jenn, the vidcast reporter, as she discusses the PSP, including Logitech's PlayGear Pocket PSP case, Lua player, and PSPGolf. This vidcast follows the same sort of format as the PSPHacking101 podcasts, but with the added feature of Jenn, the ever-informative reporter. Useful if you want to convert it to PSP format and catch up on some PSP news on the move!

PSP News Reader  Gary13579 has released an update to his RSS News Reader for PSP. He has updated his application to handle a few bug fixes, and separate files for each XML feed. Here's what he had to say: This release covers one bug where it would crash for some odd reason on the modshark XML. I've also re-added the RSS feed for this site
PReSSPReSS
PReSS A new version is out for PReSS from The Underminer. For those of you who missed out on the initial release of the application, PReSS is a homebrew program that allows users to download and read RSS feeds. PReSS is now on its second release. Version 0.2 has a lot of new features, but please note that the first version of PReSS isn't compatible with the new build
WebnabWebnab
Webnab  Danzel, from our forums, has updated Webnab to version 0.2a. Webnab (Why Eat Banannas? Not A Browser) is a full fledged RSS / Atom reader for your PSP. If you have a 2.60 PSP, you have this feature already built in, but us 1.5/2.0 users want to join in the newsfeed fun too! That's right, Webnab now works on 2
WebnabWebnab
Webnab  Danzel, from our forums, has released a new homebrew program with, probably, the craziest name we have seen yet. Webnab v0.1 ( Why Eat Bananas, Not A Browser) is a program that allows you to read front page news from a limited number of news type sites. Currently it supports PSPUpdates.qj.net (Parses front page), Slashdot (rss feed), and apple (rss feed)

Its a Website Offline which you put on your pspand you write the link to the portal into your Browser and basicly its loads of cool apps andstuff in one Website And the Portal Is The Same Size as your PSP Screen so there will be no Scrolling

PReSS  Sometimes it can get quite bothersome having to drag a newspaper everywhere you go just so that you can keep up with current events
pspRSSpspRSS
pspRSS  pspRSS v0.2a - RSS and XML Reader by Freeplay I've got a new version! The URL for the RSS feed no longer has to be hard-coded into the Lua script. It can parse a URL, grab the IP address for the domain, connect, and download a file. Actually, it can download as many files as you want, one after the next
iTunes RSS Server for WindowsiTunes RSS Server for Windows
iTunes RSS Server for Windows  Here's an interesting little program that Albert emailed us about earlier today. One of the best selling points of 2.60 Firmware is the ability to stream RSS feeds to your PSP via your WiFi connection. Now that feature is even more useful with the iTunes RSS Server which will allow you to stream MP3 and AAC files to your PSP

pspRSS  RSS/XML Reader by FreePlay After a couple hours of learning pattern matching, table functions, and strings functions in Lua, I've resolved a couple issues with the old version. First, self-closing tags were not supported in the original LuaXML
PSP RSS ManagerPSP RSS Manager
PSP RSS Manager  Homebrew developer FreePlay dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and released a new application called PSP RSS Manager. Just like its name implies, it's a Windows-based program that allows users to manage the RSS channels on their Sony handheld units. PSP RSS Manager is currently on version 0
