  PSP-Metronome

Another one? This isn't ExxonValdeez's LUA PSP Metronome. Rather, this is willytarno of XtreamLua, who has created his own version, the PSP-Metronome v0.2, this time as a stand-alone general app. (There is a LUA version of his app, but seeing as there's a stand-alone equivalent, and we already have ExxonValdeez's LUA, we decided to make the stand-alone downloadable instead).

Okay, basic instructions for the stand-alone, which are slightly different from what willytarno posted. Instead of using Start to both start and stop the metronome (probably for the LUA version), use X to start the tick-tock-tick-tock and Start to stop it. Use Select to reset the metronome back to its default 80bpm tempo, and the Home key to terminate the program.

Another difference between this Metronome and the last one is that willytarno's homebrew also provides a graphic depiction of the tempo beats. That colored box in the center of your screen flashes between red and yellow at each beat. Okay, so it's not the swinging arm of the actual metronome, but it works, and nothing's stopping willytarno from adding that in a later rev.

Again, this app is best used by budding and practicing musicians, to help keep time and tempo with their favorite musical pieces. It can also be used, as Victor B. suggested with the LUA PSP Metronome, to creep the family out, but this writer finds that the PS3's possessed-baby-doll commercial is a better tool to scare the whoops! out of people.

(If you know a bit of francais, you will note that the .zip file says "for 1.5." We don't know if this is a minimum or a maximum firmware limitation - in other words, if you can use this on firmware above or below 1.5. Tell us if it doesn't work on yours, okay?)
