Homebrew developer darksaboteur dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forums and released a new program called PCMonitor. The application is currently on version 2 of its Alpha stage.
Basically, PCMonitor allows users to graphically view a computer's CPU, RAM, and Network Usage using the Sony PlayStation Portable. It does the trick by allowing the handheld to connect to a small server application on the PC via WiFi.
The program for the PSP was coded using C++ while the server itself was created in VB6. Here are some useful notes provided by darksaboteur regarding PCMonitor Alpha v2:
* Although the WiFi connection screen only use the debug text, the rest of the application is graphical
* PSP is clocked down to 111Mhz when using the application to extend battery life.
* Server only tested on Windows XP SP2 (may not work on anything below SP1 as some network usage monitoring code relies on it)
* Requires 3.xx Kernel (Tested on 3.90 M33-2 only) so make sure it is in the GAME folder (if it is set to 3.xx kernel) or GAME3xx
* Allows WPA WiFi Access
PCMonitor Alpha v2 comes with its own Readme.txt file which should provide information regarding installation and usage as well as current known bugs. Be sure to browse the documentation first to avoid any problems.
