Yes, the latest firmware for the PSP is out! But just like the last few updates, this one offers nothing great unless you're lucky enough to have a PS3 with you. Here's the single update which is listed on Sony's official site:
* [ The PLAYSTATION Network] Titles which can be played from the PSN have been increased.
Don't worry though, we do have something to be excited about. I talked to my friend Birdman a while ago who gave the news that even though it's currently unusable with the latest Devhook, the problem is quite minor. It seems that Sony hasn't changed the decryption keys, which means that a lot of stuff gets decrypted. The only problem is that they seem to have changed the PSAR layout which means that psardumper gets confused while decrypting.
Obviously, this means that psardumper can easily be modded to check for a different layout when decrypting this firmware. And since it's open source and well maintained, we should be expecting a modded version soon. Anyways, even though most of you know this, let's just make it clear, shall we?
This firmware is currently non-homebrew-able. Please don't upgrade with the hope of it being cracked anytime soon.
Now that we have that out of the way, here's the download for firmware 3.03.
