Homebrew developer Cobra11Murderer dropped by QJ.NET PSP development Forum and released a program that should help those who are having problems with the brightness settings of PlayStation Portable units with motherboards TA-082 and TA-086.
Called PSP Brightness Fix, this program should also solved recover light issues as well as the small clock bug that shows up whenever you press the Home button while on 1.50 homebrew. The application itself should be used with custom firmwares lower than 3.51 M33-7.
Cobra11Murderer mentioned as well that PSP Brightness Fix uses unencrypted versions of the three files from 2.70 instead of the three files from 1.50. That means that you will have to re-apply the program whenever you install a new custom firmware. The application itself uses 128kb of your PSP's flash0.
PSP Brightness Fix comes with a Readme.txt file that should be followed strictly when using this program. Not doing so may prove to be fatal to your PSP units. Also, you might want to refer to the forum link below for the full custom firmware compatibility list as well as several notes from the developer.
