Here's some good news for the guys who've found plenty of uses for Mediumgauge's PSP Filer application. The developer has announced that this homebrew appl has been updated to version 5.3.
Among other things, this new build carries improvements for PSP Filer's picture viewer, such as the ability to read the next picture in background. As for the rest of the changelog:
* General:
o Putting filer/text/binary [.bmp/.jpg/.png] in the same folder of Filer, Filer changes background as mode changes.
* Picture viewer:
o image loading will be done in a separated thread.
o reduced a bug that audio playback was stopped while reading a piture.
o added a feature to read next picture in background. (maximum 7 pictures)

PSP Homebrew Developer mediumgauge is back with version 4.6 of PSP Filer. The new build fixes some bugs from the previous version and has some improvements on MP3 playback, including being able to play files that has sections of corrupted data.

Update: Just a few hours after the release of the first public build, FreePlay has told me that he has updated FileAssistant. Turns out, he's correct. The new version allows you to browse your UMDs and he has also got the battery meter working. Plus, while talking to him, he also revealed that he has polished the dialogs since they were a bit problematic
