For a fresh start in fall, califrag has updated warPSP^xmb Alpha to Beta and has released it for those who have been following his homebrewed WarXing prx. The biggest update in warPSP^xmb Beta is that it now comes in two flavors: the xmb extension for the old flashing approach to warPSP^xmb, and a separate standalone Eboot version for those still fearful of flashing their PlayStation Portable.
The PSP coder also improved warPSP^xmb to sport an enhanced on-screen user interface, coupled with respective functionality. GPS functions were also integrated in this release, while certain bugs have been dealt with in the xmb extension version.
Those willing to use the xmb extension version must be made aware that there are certain issues entailed with it, even if it now comes in an easy installer version. The developer said, "There are some known bugs with the prx file and there could possibly be bugs in the installer or the pbp standalone. These are risks that you accept by downloading and running these programs on your PSP," and we cannot stress this enough. Read the Readme folks, or stop by at the release thread for inquiries.
