BetterToday - BetterToday is a Today plug-in that lets you display up to two BMP images on the Today page precisely positioned on the screen (to the nearest X & Y co-ord).
The program can handle transparency of the BMP (apparently white - 255,255,255 - is transparent by default)
FREE Unzip - FREE Unzip is an excellent freeware product for unzipping your files.
Among the useful features, it allows you to unzip by a double-top on the file in question, then the progam will delete the file after reading it, which avoids having to do the housekeeping yourself
Swfht - Swfht is a utility which can create the .HTM file that Pocket Internet Explorer needs to play a Flash file.
It's all in Japanese but the screen display is simple enough to understand the concept. You can readily see that the SWF file must be found and that the selected resolution must be determined
Performance Monitor - Performance Monitor is a program that precisely monitors the state of the system on a Pocket PC.
It displays in real time the amount of memory used by the running programs (Main Memory) and the amount of memory used by the installed programs (Program Memory)
Wakeup Tweak - Wakeup Tweak is a little program that corrects a bug that appeared in Windows Mobile 2003 concerning alarms that don't always ring when they should.
Everyone knows now that the PocketPC turns itself on at midnight to execute some maintenance routines, in particular the alarm initialisation
Restart - Restart is a program designed to quickly power of or reset your Pocket PC. The interface is similar to the XP one.
The Log Off option launch the Pocket PC Password application.
Restart can be launched in the background (with an icon appearing in the Today Screen tray): useful but will use more RAM
Turbo Tray - Turbo Tray is a program that puts an icon in the System Tray and lets you single-click on it to change the processor's frequency, shifting through several values.
The program is memory-resident and will retain its settings even when the Pocket PC is turned off (but it won't survive a Soft Reset, of course)
Speed Stepper - Speed Stepper is a XScale speed stepping program. There are a number of speeds that the XScale processor is capable of. This program currently lets you select three of them. 100 MHz, 200 MHz, and 300 MHz. Executing the program will show you what your current speed setting is and let you change it
Key Guard - Key Guard is a little application that will make sure that the application buttons cannot power the unit on.
Key Guard will place a lock icon on the system tray. When the icon is in the locked position, the keys can only turn off the unit, if already on, and keep the unit off if its already off
Power Countdown - Are you tired of having your Pocket PC accidentally turn on in your pocket and later find the battery has been drained? Well Power Countdown will solve this little nuisance.
Power Countdown is a software based power off with a 5 second timer. Enabling Power Countdown will place an icon in the system tray
