2004 Meteor Shower Database - This is a database of 2004 meteor showers, including: name of the shower, date range, date at which the shower peaks, the maximum rate per hour, and the radiant.
For observation, the higher ZHR (Zenithal Hourly Rate), the better (more meteors).
Maximum dates in parentheses indicate reference dates for the radiant, not true maxima
2005 Meteor Shower Database - This is a database of 2005 meteor showers, including: name of the shower, date range, date at which the shower peaks, the maximum rate per hour, the entry velocity, and the radiant.
For observation, the higher ZHR (Zenithal Hourly Rate), the better (more meteors)
astrolib - The astrolib library calculates planetary positions and timezones.
Positions of sun, moon and planets up to Pluto are calculated with an accuracy of the order of one arc minute for dates less than a century away from now. Calculations are based on approximation formulae by Paul Schlyter, which are in turn based on a preprint of a paper by T. van Flandern and K
Mondphase - German translation of Moon Phase.
This application will graphically display the phase of the Moon for any day.
This version is corrected to work with any version of the PalmPilot, to my knowledge.
The older pilots won't have the full functionality, however
Navigate is a Palm OS program for computing the range and bearing between any two points on the Earth's surface OR the end location given a starting location, range and bearing.
It will compute these solutions for either lines of constant bearing (loxodromes or rhumb lines) or the shortest possible path on the Earth (geodesics or great circle routes)
P-Moontool - Shows the current phase of the Moon.
The accuracy depends on the Time Zone you are in.
Make sure you set it correct.
The grayscale modes are available only on PalmOS 3.5 or above.
Shows the dates for the 4 phases of the Moon (next event is underlined.) taping on a date brings up a dialog showing the time as well you can jump to any date you choose
SunFly - allows computation of sunrise and sunset observed from an aircraft.
With SunFly, mainly an application for aviators, you can exactly predict not only time but also the position of sunrise or sunset.
Insert two waypoints with its coordinates and the respective estimated time over (ETO), the flight level and SunFly does the rest
SnapCalc is a HackMaster plug-in that allows you to pop up a basic calculator from within any PalmOS® application, do some calculations, and, if you choose, copy the result to the underlying application
