PSP Homebrew Developer pspgorrister has released Kpsp Convert v0.3.0, an app that can convert videos to play on the PSP. Unlike other converters though, this one uses Linux. The app supports the popular formats: mpeg, mpg, avi, and even YouTube videos (straight off the YouTube link)
LightMP3 Version
PSP homebrew developer sakya dropped by the QJ.NET Forums to announce the release of LightMP3 Version 1.6.0 FINAL. As the sakya promised, this latest build has eliminated the USB bug that was found in LightMP3's version 1.6.0 Beta
Ultimate Portal
PSP owners who enjoy using portals will be happy to know that Ultimate Portal v6.0 has now been released. This homebrew was created by biscottealacrevette and sports some pretty nifty functions that power users may appreciate.
The Ultimate Portal allows players to listen to the radio, check the weather, as well as access applications on the PSP

Unofficial LightMP3 1.6.1
JLF65 has a little treat for all the FLAC fans out there. The homebrew developer has released an unofficial update for sakya's LightMP3 app that includes a FLAC playback feature.
JLF65 says that this is being considered a beta release as it features "one BIG bug"
Ultimate Portal
PSP Homebrew Developer Mizou93 has come out with an English translation for Ultimate Portal v6.0 which was originally released in French by biscottealacrevette. Mizou93 simply translated the program but does note one thing:
If you are using the Ultimate Portal Homebrew, you won't see the flash animations
Audio Mechanica
Homebrew Developer Art has come out with a new version of Audio Mechanica, the digital audio recorder for the PSP. This latest version is a recompilation of the previous version which let the program run at a lower clock speed at 133/133/1 to save on battery power
