PSP Homebrew developer Zora_182 has released his new game (well, a new game based on an old one): Funky Kong! As you might have guessed, it's based on the classic Donkey Kong arcade game.
This time around, the game is a side scroller. Zora_182 is also the author of the Super Mario Bros. Platformer (SMBPSPlatformer v0.03) and so is no stranger to retro type games.
Funky Kong is still in beta form but Zora_182 says that it's playable even if it's still a little buggy. Here is a description of the program taken from the readme:
Funky Kong is based off the classic barrel-jumping-hammer-bashing arcade game, Donkey-Kong! [...] You'll have to hurry and make it to the top, but by avoiding any possible danger. That includes; Falling Barrels, Spinning Barrels, Flame Enemies, Flaming Barrels and finish off by a boss battle after a level.
Some of the things of which I plan to include in the future are: Switches, Boss', Life system, time limit, and perhaps a password program to resume a level.
Users are encouraged to go through the readme before using the app.
