Boards neophyte ScottyBoyNow dropped by earlier to say he's just finished working on his very first homebrew game, titled LuaChase v1. This lua-coded game is based on the evilmana code, and follows a very simply rule - don't let the green square touch your blue square. To control your square, just press on the arrow buttons to move.
The developer states that new stuff added here are the new background and the collision effect, though he expects to do some extra tweaking by version 2 - like fixing the square's tendency to go off-screen.
Now, for the guys who are probably going to gripe about this game not exactly being the best out there, do understand it is a first attempt. Everybody has to start somewhere, and we're just hoping that ScottyBoyNow learns from his first steps - hopefully with a new version release. We congratulate the dude for his effort, along with a suggestion for him and other aspiring Lua coders to go and check out developer Zion's little gift to the community - it should give you some great ideas for your next project. Enjoy the download.
