A Touch of War Homebrew developer JimmyL's bite-sized RTS for the Nintendo DS is becoming more solid, as another update brings a new feature to A Touch of War that should be interesting for fans of tower defense games. A Touch of War version 0.11a is out, and it's making us itch for future builds.
For those who haven't heard of it, A Touch of War is a stylus-based RTS with multiplayer support and nifty scoreboards. Here's the changelog for the latest release:
* "Home base" which doesn't do anything yet. * "Debug map" for testing, one of the face buttons switches which team you're currently controlling, and the buildings produce guys instantly. * "Survival", I haven't played it more than twice, so I'm not sure how balanced/fun it is. The goal is to defend the house for as long as possible while increasingly large waves of enemies come out every 20 seconds. If you have wifi enabled, it will upload your high score. I'll add a high score page soon. Sadly, if you don't have wifi enabled before you play, the high score will get thrown out.
With survival mode in place and an upcoming "Home base" feature which will most likely expand on what JimmyL's homebrew game can do, we can't help but be excited about future developments. While you try the game out, we'll keep tabs on updates and make sure you don't miss anything!
