Well, after getting some feedback from the members of the QJ forums, Mr305 came out with a new version of his WIFI Power Saver plugin. Now known as WIFI Power Saver v1.5, the plugin will allow you to map buttons you can use to turn off your WiFi connection or to conserve your battery even further by putting the cpu/ram/bus to its lowest setting.
This release follows the same conventions as its predecessor, and thus should work on 3.40 OE-A. The readme includes instructions for using the plugin and you can find the installation instructions at the end of this article.
Again, it's not exactly for those without some technical experience, so be cautious in its use. If you can use it, however, give it a try and see if its an easier solution for you than turning off your WiFi manually.
Installation Instructions:
* Edit vsh.txt in seplugins folder and add: "[pspdrive]:sepluginsWIFIpowsav.pr x" (no spaces
* Copy WifiPowSav.txt to seplugins folder.
* Enable the plugin in Recovery.
