Data Array Scrambling (DAS) encryption example

With some people trying to rip off the homebrew scene, pretending to be Dark_Alex and so forth Xart from our forums has come up with a great new idea to prevent people ripping off other's work. Xart, a developer from our forums has developed a powerful, fast Data Aray Scrambling (DAS) system to protect your homebrew games and applications from hex editing and others stealing credit from your hard work. This is an example of an encryption technique and it not a full release, and for this example Xart has used his xLoader application. It's a proof of concept to show just how quick encryption can be done to protect your work, and could see the development of protection for all homebrew easily and quickly soon.

Just download the application and press circle to encrypt image using the DAS System, then press square to decrypt the image. Here's what xart said about his homebrew encryption example:

If you have looked at the example you will see that just a splash encrypted screen is enough to protect your work, just place text as part of the image and encrypt it, and then include the encrypted image in your homebrew with the key to decrypt it, the key can be encrypted as well to stop hex editors being used to find the key to decrypt the image.

As xart has stated, should homebrew developers now be encrypting their work like Sony so that they have to decrypt them in order to see how exploit code for running homebrew works? As we already know, it isn't impossible to decypt files, but it will certainly give Sony headache doing so. Get the example below and join the intense discussion in our forums!
