Midori Nes Emulator Again, we feature another contender in the NEO Summer Coding Contest.
It is always nice to see a new emulator for the Nintendo DS and homebrew developer, AronBS, took advantage of that and concocted the Midori NES Emulator. In case you were too young (or not even born yet) when the NES came out, allow us to refresh your memory.
The Nintendo Entertainment System or NES is an 8-bit video game console which became available in Japan in 1983 and in 1985 in North America. It was billed as the most successful gaming console of its time and was the first console for which the manufacturer openly courted third-party developers.
So now that the trip down memory lane is over, lets shift our attention to AronBS' homebrew emulator. The creation is not perfect...for now, since the developer mentioned that there are still too many bugs in this release. A lot of things is still missing, but give Aron some time, and let's see if he'll be able to rise up to the challenge of perfecting this app.
All you have to do is run Midori with your nes game as parameter and it will create an NDS file for you with the game. It wouldn't hurt if you'll read the readme.txt that comes along with the download. Aron mentioned that Megaman 1 and 2 works like a charm, but sounds are still missing.

Users of gtk, cli and gtk-glade frontends please note that now we have a common directory in ~/.config/desmume for config file, saves and savestates. The old .desmume.ini will be moved automatically with the name config but you have to move your saves manually.
Some save files may be invalidated due to use of broken crc logic
