Over on the QJ forums, Dezimalhexer has just released a program that'll help those who don't want top mess around with .inf and .ico files change the icon and label that identifies their PSPs whenever they plug 'em into their PCs.
The program, PSPIconIt, should run on any Windows-based PC (9X/ME/2000/XP) and includes 16 ready-made icons. PSPIconIt will also work on standard HDDs and USB drives. To install it, just extract PSPIconIt.exe to any directory. This probably goes without saying, but make sure you connect your PSP to your computer before you apply any icon.
Dezimalhexer plans to put in more icons ("even Harddisk and USB-Sticks like Sandisk Cruzers") and a professional mode "for those who want to add their own icons." More languages will also be made available in version 2. If you have any comments or suggestions, don't hesitate to check out the PSPIconIt release thread on the QJ forums.

Icons have it bad. They're just sitting there in your file explorer window, looking pretty as, well, an icon. But their life is a tough one to live. Because people (much like you or me) would rather give them a make over so that it's easier to organize stuff. Compare the before and after shots above. See?
