Sony PlayStation Portable homebrew developer zx-81 just released another update to one of his many PSP homebrew applications, this time giving love to PSPIRC. After the flurry of new features last update, PSPIRC version 1.0.7 addresses a handful of bugs that surfaced.
As some already know, zx-81 picked up the IRC engine originally made by Denzen then added IR keyboard support based on Harald Fielker's work. Now, the PSP homebrew developer constantly updates PSPIRC for the best chat experience on the Sony handheld. This version eliminates a couple of bugs users encountered, and added a line edit mode. Here are the changes:
* Bug fix in Danzef keyboard (characters ? and # weren't mapped properly)
* Bug fix on fw-3x, the PSP freeze when more than 7 tabs were opened simultaneously
* New line edit mode in IRC console
Two versions, one for firmware 1.5 and another for 3.xx OE CFW, are available. For those who haven't tried the app before, there are helpful Readme files in both downloads with enough instructions that should help you get started. If there are any bugs, or if you want to send your suggestions, just visit zx-81's release thread at the QJ.NET forums.

It seems to be that Microsoft took down MSNP9 Protocol. This means that Beup Live doesn't work anymore, since it uses MSNP9.
I downgraded Beup Live to MSNP8 (which still works) for the people who still wants to use Beup Live. The only bad side is that there is no avatar support in MSNP8

Well, I personally am an IRC junkie. I prefer IRC over other 'newer' chat networks like MSN or AIM. And if you're like me, you'll sure love aserto's newest homebrew - An IRC client for the PSP. And get this straight. It's not just ANY IRC client
PSPIRC PSPIRC
Homebrew developer zx-81 dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development forum a while ago and release a new application called PSPIRC. Just like the name suggests, this program is a basic Internet Relay Chat client for the Sony PlayStation Portable. It was based from Danzel's IRC engine and zx-81's very own PSPSSH
