The last time we heard from vandal was last March, when the PSP developer came up with the Quad v2 homebrew game coded in C. And from the looks of it, the author's had another bit of inspiration, as Lucky9 v1 gets released for play. This homebrew is a card game wherein the player with a hand closest to 9 wins. Here are the rest of the gameplay details:
* The object of the game is to draw a hand that totals 9 or as closest to 9 as possible.
* No hand receives more than 3 cards.
* When player's hand & dealer's hand are equal,a Stand-Off is declared.
* Tens cards are worth zero, aces are worth one, & all other cards are worth their face value.
* If the value of a hand exceeds nine, the value is adjusted by subtracting 10 from the total.
vandal further explained that this game's actually based on the way it's played in his hometown, with a progressive difficulty mode set up to up the ante for players. Lucky9 is expected to work with both PSP Custom firmware 3.XX++, and fw 1.50. That's it for the moment - the author's planning to update with sounds, and perhaps different backgrounds for the game's levels.
