MCTool 0.15 source code SukkoPera's MCTool, an app that brings together a bunch of utilities useful for media card maintenance, has just been released on the DCEmu forums. This is the first release of MCTool, and currently has two utilities included. Here's an overview as well as usage instructions from the readme:

1. The first one checks, and optionally fixes, any errors found in the filesystem of your media card. This is basically the same thing that you do under Windows when you run "Scandisk", but it saves you the hassle of having to turn on your computer, remove your card, connect it to the PC, etc...
2. The second utility will be mainly useful for users of Supercard family flashcarts. Such carts show ROMs and programs sorted by date. Many users (including me) prefer to have them sorted alphabetically, which is exactly what this utility does.

Usage
To run the first utility, press X at the mode selection screen for read-only mode, which is 100% safe, and just checks for errors. If you want the utility to fix them, run it with Y. Note that you will still be prompted before making any changes.

You should run the second utility by pressing A if your Supercard has a firmware older than 1.7 (released on 2006.11.05), which shows the oldest ROM/program first, or by pressing B if you have a 1.7 or newer firmware. If you don't know which firmware your Supercard has, try turning on your DS keeping the L and R buttons pressed, then press A a couple times. Otherwise, just give it a try: if you use the wrong button, the entries will be sorted in reverse order, nothing more.

To install MCTool, just copy the proper version of the program to your media card and run it. This app has been tested on a Supercard Lite and uses a modified version of Chishm's libfat. If an appropriate version for your flashcart is unavailable, you might try to patch the program with a different DLDI interface.

Remember to read the readme file included in the download before using MCTool. Also, plesae note that MCTool messes with the filesystem of your media card. To prevent data loss, please make sure that you have backups of any important data.
