Thanks to a tip from Darknight88, we found out that there was another way for people to get their Solid Snake shenanigans on the PSP.
He tipped us off to a free multiplayer demo of Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, which people can download and play. The game works on ad-hoc multiplayer only, so it'd be handy for you to have a couple of friends with PSPs who want to go try the game out with you. Otherwise, you're out of luck.
More importantly, the link that Darknight88 led us to has two different versions of the game: one for firmware 3.00 users, and another for 3.40 users. As always, your mileage will probably vary depending on which file you grab and whether or not you're using custom firmware, so leave a comment below if the game works for you. Enjoy!
