BatchDPG If the converter included in the MoonShell package has lost its charm for you, then go ahead and try BatchDPG. It offers better quality (and we all want that) than the default converter plus more. It offers support for any video file that can be played in a DirectShow based media player, automatic framerate calculation, on the fly subtitle support, mono audio encoding bility to set a maximum bitrate to avoid the video freezing for some time, less out-of-sync issues apparently caused by a bad resampling algorithm, and to top it all off, batch support.
Make sure that you have the latest codecs for your videos, including Windows Media Player 10 (and now Microsoft Media Player 11), AviSynth 2.56 or higher, Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 and the latest version of BatchDPG before jumping into any troubleshooting escapades.
Changelog for BatchDPG v1.0 Final:
* Lower resolutions selectable. * BatchDPG now actually reports something semi-useful when conversion failes, and doesn't create any useless output. * Nice GUI and tray icon. * Source released. Includes the source of headermaker.
