Sometimes it can get quite bothersome having to drag a newspaper everywhere you go just so that you can keep up with current events. Thankfully, developer The Underminer (Nino van Hooff) was able to come up with a neat PlayStation Portable homebrew app, which wraps up all the important information you'll ever need off the 'Net into convenient, bite-sized RSS feeds.
The latest build, version 0.4, now supports full integration with http 1.1 and is now more stable due to the reusing of connections. For more details on the other changes implemented since our previous coverage of PReSS, you can check out the latest changelog taken from the app's Readme.txt file:
version 0.4 - 31 May 2008
- full integration of http 1.1
- More stable due to reuse of connections
- speed up through higher cpu speed. To compensate; the speed is lowered when idle.
- The playing song now displays at the bottom of the screen
- 2 major bugs fixed,
- and some minor ones
The developer noted that there are still a couple of bugs that need to be worked out. For instance, unsupported characters and dropped spaces found on some speeds can literally screw up the formatting of the application.
Also, any corrupt images loaded tend to lock up your PSP. If this is the case, just reboot your handheld and restart the program from the XMB. Hopefully, these issues will be resolved in future releases of PReSS.
For more information regarding the installation process and the program's different controls, please read the documentation included in the file bundle.

Danzel, from our forums, has released a new homebrew program with, probably, the craziest name we have seen yet. Gary13579 has released an update to his RSS News Reader for PSP. He has updated his application to handle a few bug fixes, and separate files for each XML feed. Here's what he had to say:

iTunes RSS Server for Windows iTunes RSS Server for Windows
Here's an interesting little program that Albert emailed us about earlier today. One of the best selling points of 2.60 Firmware is the ability to stream RSS feeds to your PSP via your WiFi connection. Now that feature is even more useful with the iTunes RSS Server which will allow you to stream MP3 and AAC files to your PSP
