Grow Collection - Grow RPG You really have to love the ingenuity that comes with this nifty piece of homebrew. DS homebrew developer Campanile has ported Eyezmaze's Grow RPG for the DS (now called Grow RPG v0.9) as part of the upcoming Grow Collection he's developing.
For those who haven't heard of the Grow series from Eyezmaze, Grow refers to a series of flash games that allow users to place numerous elements into a game world in a given order. Finding the proper order in which to place items is the name of the game, as the only way to see the ideal ending for a session of Grow play is to find out the exact order the items follow.
In the case of Grow RPG, you have 8 elements that you have to place in the world, ranging from a body of water to a treasure chest. Each time a player adds a new element to the game world, the previously placed elements "grow," so a small rock in turn 1 can become a cave by turn 4.
To defeat the demon that is visible in the game (as well as his minions), you have to place these seemingly unrelated elements in order to make your character progress through the game properly. The wrong order of elements essentially makes your character go through a losing situation, forcing you to reset the world and try again.
You can find out how the game plays by checking the English readme that's inside. Note that the developer of this port has mentioned some bugs that can force a restart, so be careful with what you do. That being said, enjoy the game!
