Wii homebrew developer unholyfire has announced the release of Snes9xGx.wii 0.01b. If you haven't figured out what it does based on the title, it's an emulator which allows users to run SNES roms on their Wii.
According to the developer, this application is running a modified version of the Snes9xGx 1.43 emulator. Of course, quite a number of changes were done to the program, so here's a list of the changes as taken from unholyfire's release thread:
Changes from Snes9xGx 1.43
* Added Wii DVD detection capability (allows you to browse the DVD to fetch ROMS)
* Changed "goto menu" function to button combo "L+R+X+Y" (to support SNES/GC adapters and/or homebrew controllers)
those who wish to compile Snes9xGx.wii 0.01b for themselves need the DevKitPro+DevKitPPC+LibOGC+FreeType2 environment to do so. If you're unfamiliar with this, feel free to follow our Source Link for more information on how to set it up.
Be advised that the compiled version of this emulator does not come with any documentation. So unless you're absolutely sure about what you're doing, it might pay to do a little research before running this to avoid any unwanted problems.
