Big changes are up for raing3's multi-purpose IPL/memstick management application for the PSP. We haven't heard about PSP Tool for quite some time now, and fortunately, it hasn't gotten a new name change too.
For those who haven't kept track of PSP Tool, it allows you to back up and restore yoru PSP's IdStorage, and inject or erase some IPLs. It's pretty useful, and the GUI menu is pretty self-explanatory. For this version, raing3 has added a lot of changes.
Changelog for PSP Tool v0.8:
* Added options to create DC3, DC4, DC5, DC7, DC8 or an original 1.50 Update Flasher Magic Memory Sticks (read manual for requirements, same as original installers).
* Added a Memory Stick format function based on Hellcats Pandora Installer.
* The wave colours are now random and customizable (the wave colours can be changed by pressing SQUARE or holding L while pressing square toggles between the flash0 colours and the internal colours).
* Other minor alterations and fixes.
* Fixed crash when attempting to use a flash via USB when run under DC.
* All files (except loaded PRXs) are now stored in a zip archive in the PSAR section of the EBOOT for easy editing.
* Sources are no longer included to reduce file size.
* IdStorage keys are now saved and restored from a single file and the integrity of the file is validated before restoration.
* Added more information to the system information pandels.
Raing3 notes that the format function was only added at the last minute so there may be some bugs with it still. He says he was able to use the function with his two memsticks just fine (1GB Sony, 4GB SanDisk), but says that there could be some unforeseen hitches.
The download archive includes a useful pdf outlining all the documentation you might need. If all else fails, there's still the forum.
