  ASCII Boot Splash

Homebrew developer and QJ.NET PSPS Development forums member aliasneo has released an updated version of ASCII Boot Splash, a homebrew app for the PlayStation Portable that displays the contents of a text file as either an animated or static splash screen.

While the previous release that we covered a couple of days ago worked only with the PSP Phat, this version - version 0.2S - works with the PSP Slim. According to aliasneo, this version has also been updated to work with earlier PSP firmwares, although that particular feature has yet to be fully tested. Here's a snippet off aliasneo's release post:

After reports of the original Phat version not working on firmwares above 3.52 or on PSP Slim I have now updated the program. This BETA, I want to use as an opportunity to test exactly which firmwares this will work on and which it wont.

Unfortunately due to some Sony changes, it has become difficult to run the same code on the earlier and later firmwares from the same program. Hopefully I can find from this what does and doesn't work, if I am unable to find a solution, I will maintain this version in parallel with the earlier version for the phat PSP.

Any and all comments and feedback appreciated.

Remember to read the readme file included in the download before you install this application. Those who want to give the developer some feedback can do so at the QJ.NET PSP Development Forums.

Custom xmb Icon Converter (English) One of the great things we can definitely say about working here is that there's always room for praise. Homebrewers make QJ a great place to be, but there are also other people in our scene who deserve a pat on the back for taking an idea and making it real. One such member of the community is caliFrag

"Absolutely sucks." That's how DDRLord described the process of "working in the command line when you don't have to." So he made this GUI for ColdBird's 2.71 SE Homebrew Fixer so we don't have to work in the command line anymore
IconPackIconPack
IconPack  Icons have it bad. They're just sitting there in your file explorer window, looking pretty as, well, an icon. But their life is a tough one to live. Because people (much like you or me) would rather give them a make over so that it's easier to organize stuff. Compare the before and after shots above. See? The undead compiled a little nifty IconPack v0
