Having problems getting a sought-after item in Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions? If you're not averse to getting it via messing around with the game files, then you might want to check out this new app made by melonhead.
This app, FFTPatcher, is a WIndows application that lets you open an SCUS_942.21 file and apply changes to it. It was originally developed for use with the PSOne version of Final Fantasy Tactics, but melonhead says it also works fine with the PSP version. It also generates CWCheat codes based on the changes you make.
FFTPatcher is now at version 0.168. Here's the changelog for this version:
* Changes since v0.164:
o Fixed bug in CheckedListBoxes where the highlighting was not always displayed correctly
o Added ENTD editor
o Optimized .fftpatch generation to generate only the elements that are necessary.
* Changes since v0.148:
o Changed the behavior of the CheckedListBoxes so that you only have to click once to check or uncheck an item
o Optimized CWCheat/Gameshark code generation so less codes are generated and the CWCheat codes get split out into groups of 25
o Added highlighting and tooltips to all editing controls:
+ Controls will be highlighted in blue if the value they modify has been changed from its default
+ MouseOver on an editing control (except checkboxes) will show a tooltip with the default value
Please note that you'll need to install Microsoft's .NET framework 2.0 before you can run this app on your PC.
