KW's PSNPatch is a popular tool designed to thwart PSN bans. As part of this most recent build, there is a new OFW mode that's designed to exclusively run retail discs while connected to the PSN. Homebrew use is not allowed, but it's an almost sure thing that you won't get banned while this mode is active. Second to that is simple swapping of the PS2 emulator between ISO and Classics modes. Over on the QJ forums, jas0nuk has just released a psardumper mod that can decrypt individual firmware modules from all known retail firmwares (from 1.00 all the way to 3.03). The mod, dubbed decrypter303, also works with all current game PRXs
