For those who have been waiting for the update of Xandu's Media Player 2 (XMP2), you're in luck. The homebrew developer has just released the latest version for the PlayStation Portable music player.
If you aren't familiar with this particular homebrew app, here's a bit of a primer. XMP 2 is a media player that has a iPod-ish interface. It sports .mp3, .wav, IT, MOD and S3M playback, plus a lot more. In this release Beta v1.2B, the developer was able to work out the various kinks and bugs from the previous releases.
Anyway, here's the changelog:
Font finally polished, XMP looks better now.
The "weird" noises before playing reduced.
The back bug that happened when you go back to the library.
Play/Pause icons now look better.
Scroll bar doesn't overlap the battery.
Folder bug now fixed, all folders work.
Analog in other menus now works.
Music Quiz updated (now views score)
Shuffle feature added BETA.
Xandu's Media Player 2 Beta v1.2B still has a few known issues at large (like the song length problem, bigger sized album art not showing up properly, and only version 1 of ID3 is supported), though hopefully, the dev gets to get rid of those as well.
Anyway, gp ahead and download the app, though make sure you read the nifty user manual that goes with the file.

XM7Play 01/12/09 XM7Play 01/12/09 Hi! Some interesting updates, today :)
1st: Now it loads also squeezed XMs. No more loading errors, hopefully. :)
2nd: It includes a little sample optimizer (well, I'm still working on it...) that optimizes samples that would probably have detuning problems (or even don't play at all) if played without manipulation
