DS Game Maker release 6/24/2008 We've got big news coming in for the homebrew devs out there, as a new build of the DS Game Make application gets released for public use. As its names implies, this program is a PC-based tool that will enable you to make your very own games for the Nintendo DS handheld system.
DS Game Maker will also allows its users to add Wifi, Rumble and sound functions to whatever project they're making without any requisite knowledge of programming. Here are the latest changes that are included with this new build:
* 256 color sprite problem solved! (but you can't add more than 16 sprites to your project on the left... but 16's enough until we sort that out. At least you can work again.)
* Slight tweaks in upload to site process, backgrounds larger than 256x192 do not affect the screen shot size any more.
* 3 actions fixed: Init FAT and Play Sound MP3 and Create Sprite (after the new system was introduced in this version).
* Transition In and Transition Out - you can now use constants instead of numbers, .e.g. LEFTRIGHT, FROMCENTER, STARS, DIAMONDS for the shapes and directions.
* Fixed a crappy little bug with registration.
As a point of clarification, this DS Game Maker release is not to be confused with a similarly-named homebrew developed by FatQuack, and was released last year.
We've provided for a download of the free version of DS Gamer Maker below. Those interested in picking up its full build will need to visit the original DS Game Maker site via the source link below, where you can opt to make a US$ 10 payment to register your copy of the application. Doing so will entitle you to several new featu5es, including 40 extra actions and extra dialog boxes.
