Old school gamers who loved Chilly Willy's port the FPS classic Doom to the PlayStation Portable will definitely get a kick out of this new bootleg version by homebrew delveloper iceman57. Based on the title itself, Hokuto no Doom brings together the best of two worlds when the hero of the anime Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) is thrown into the violent 3D world of Doom, complete with all the classic villains from the anime series.
This game celebrates the anniversary of two of the best loved series of their respective genre. The developer mounted an international partnership with www.HokutoLegacy.com and www.DoomWadStation.com to create the game, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of Hokuto no Ken and the 10-years since the Doom engine going public.
Hokuto no Doom is definitely captures the essence of the anime perfectly while fusing it in the fast paced and addicting FPS world of Doom. While the game only features one chapter so far, those familiar with the anime will be pleasantly surprised to see some familiar faces once you hit the stage end bosses.
This release of game already includes a .wad file which runs the game, as well as a very detailed documentation which runs down the specs of the game. Don't forget to take a look at the Readme file that's included in the archive, which you can download below.
