First off, we have to thank Nightfall regarding this news, which will be regarding an update for emu_kidid's Visual Boy Advance emulator for the Wii and GameCube systems.
The developer has released a new build of VBA version 1.7.2, which will include improved controller support, as well as the addition of an in-game menu. As for the rest of the changelog details (quoting the readme):
* Wii Port
o Wiimote / Classic Controller / Gamecube Pad support
o Front-SD ROM Loading
o Front-SD SRAM Saving and Loading
o MEM2 ROM Storage for fast access
o In-game Menu with ability to exit to loader (Home button)
o Auto frame skip for those core heavy games
* GC Port
o SDGecko ROM Loading
o SDGecko SRAM Saving and Loading
o In-game Menu with ability to exit to loader (X+Y)
o Auto frame skip to give you the illusion of full FPS
This latest build will also address an issue that kept players from resuming a game when they attempted to saved. emu_kidid further notes that this will probably the last release for this homebrew. As a recap for the new readers, VBA is an emulator for three closely related systems: The Nintendo Gameboy Mono, Gameboy Color, and the Gameboy Advance.
