And here's more homebrew game goodies from the PSP Hacks Homebrew Contest. This time, it's from CBarox with his entry Roboflood V3.
Roboflood is a Top Down Shooter with five levels for you to go through. CBarox describes the game as having a lot of enemies as well as bullets and shooting. As there's five levels, it's clear to see that the big boss will be at the last level. But of course, it would be pointless if the big boss appears at an earlier stage, right? Anyhow, Version 2 was what he submitted for the contest, but he's since updated the game to Version 3.
That screenshot above is for his Version 3. Of course, we want you all to be updated on the latest, so we'll be putting up both Versions 2 and 3. Actually, V3 provides for the screenshots that weren't available in the previous download. So, here they are now.
Oh, and thanks to CBarox for tipping us about his release. We hope you find it cool!

McZonk from Team Emergency Exit has released his port of Commander Keen for PSP, version 0.9. Commander Keen PSP is a ported version of Katy's CloneKeen v8.3, which is an open-source remake of the good old 2D Commander Keen by id Software back in 1990. McZonk started on his own at the beginning, but then noticed Katy's work
Shmup 3D Shmup 3D Around a week and a half ago, Darkmath released a homebrew called Shmup 3D. We don't know if you can recognize it, but "shmup" derives from "shoot-'em-up". And that's just what this game is. A shoot-'em-up 3D. Yep. Leave it to the friendly French to come up with these playful puns...Anyhoo
OpenTyrianWii OpenTyrianWii
is a port of the DOS shoot-em-up Tyrian. Jason Emery generously gave the OpenTyrian developers a copy of the Tyrian 2.1 source code, which has since been ported from Turbo Pascal to C. The port uses SDL, making it easily cross-platform.
* The Classic port is nearly feature-complete and will always remain similar to the original game
Quake DS pre-release 2 Quake DS pre-release 2 A few months ago, DS homebrew coder Simon Hall surprised us with his first pre-release of a Quake port for the Nintendo DS. And even if this release was admittedly rough, we imagine other developers and DS owners out there loved the idea, and had the best hopes for this project
LocoRoco Style Loco Roco, well, where do we start? Whatever Alejandro Quan Madrid said about it, here at QJ territory, everytime there is something to write about these cute blobs, let's just say that everybody here (especially Karen) would kill to cover the story

My intention is to look at the code and they will decide to improve it, then send it to me to check and decide whether it is good to add to the project. All the coders who cooperate will be included in the credits. In this way it will be an open source project like Linux

Kech over at PS2DEV has just released his port of Open Mugen for the PSP. Right now, it's still pretty rough. But expect it to get better as the Open Mugen project progresses further. Currently OpenMugen runs on Windows,Linux and XBOX, and now the PSP.
Open Mugen is a 2d Beat-em-Up. I've played this game on Linux before and it is a lot of fun

Dance 'n Shoot Musical Shooter for Nintendo DS Dance 'n Shoot Musical Shooter for Nintendo DS While its widely known that the shooter genre is a rather small and disbanded bunch, one genre of shooters, "musical shooters" has been expanding. As part of the NeoFlash spring coding contest The_Legend has mad a shooter with music he says sounds something like Donky Konga for the Gamecube
Chameleon Shot Chameleon Shot Some "shooters" for NDS aren't technically not shooters in the sense that you aim your firearm and simply hit the touchpad where ever you want to fire. It's not much of a shooter when you think about it because your supposed projectile becomes something more of a melee weapon that you use directly on the enemies that pop up around the screen
