NetHackDS July 27 Update According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the Commodore 64 personal computer is the best selling single computer model of all time. Approximately 10,000 titles were made for the Commodore 64 including development tools, office applications, and games. Now, you may be able to access some of those on your DS thanks to the DS Commodore 64 Emulator called NetHack DS.

Created by DevTeam and other talented people, this homebrew emulator runs only on an SD device that can be written to by Sata's version of Chishm's FAT library. Copy everything inside the nethackDS directory in the zip file onto your CF card and run nethackDS.nds or nethackDS.ds.gba.

New features for the July 27 update includes:

* The configuration-file option hilite_pet is now working.
* Commands can now be assigned to the follwoing buttons: A, B, X, Y, Select, Start, L+[button], R+[button], L+R+[button]. A command can be up to 15 keypresses long (Ctrl-A, Alt-A, etc. count as one keypress). To assign a command to a button, press Alt-B at any time during the game.
* The screen is now redrawn only when something changes instead of every frame.
* The game should detect a DS Lite and switch the font on the top screen. If it does not work and the text is still blurry, tap the bottom-right corner of the screen anytime after you enter your name or create a file called "swapfont" in the NetHackDS directory of your CF or SD card. The font will automatically switch every time you start the game.

To install, unzip the file then compile for your computer - not the DS - and it should work on Win32 and Linux and possibly (but not certain) on the Mac OS. This is to get makedefs and friends to generate everything you need to compile it for the DS. Once this is done, from the nethack-3.4.3 directory, run 'make -f sys/nds/Makefile'. This should compile everything and copy the binaries to the binary directory. From there, copy everything to your CF card and run NetHackDS.nds or NetHackDS.ds.gba.
