  Control Tester

 Johnny McKinney may have been accused of doing some not very nice things on the homebrew front but you can't accuse him of not keeping his promises. Yesterday he promised to update his app called Control Tester v0.5 and today he released v1.0.

What's new with his latest update? Here's the changelog:

* Added menu
* Fixed joystick/analog stick detection
* Added backgrounds
* Added new font

Johnny also included directions on how to use his homebrew app in case you ran into some problems with the previous version.

To use the analog detection, start it up and it will display two numbers at the center indicating the position of your joystick. Both should be as close to 0 as possible. If you move your joystick to the left the number becomes negative. Move it to the right it goes positive. The bottom numbers are up (negative) and down (positive). To recenter the bottom number should be as close to 0 as possible but try not to get below +6 or -6.

Once you have re-centered don't touch the joystick. Switch off your PSP and switch it back on. Once your in the xmb you're safe to move your joystick. When you play a game you won't go to the left, right, up, down, or all over the place because your PSP joystick has re-centered itself.

Johnny says it's not guaranteed to work 100% of the time but he says it works for him all the time. Please read Johnny's read me please and How-to use files before installing and using this app.

MSTest MIB.42 is still working on memory stick related projects. This time he has brought us his MSTest, Memory Stick benchmark utility for the PSP, version 1.0. Here is his message: I just got my new SanDisk 2GB MemoryStick Pro ( the light blue one ) and run the R/W tests. Read speed is same as the 512M one ( 14

Check NDSCheck NDS
Check NDS Check NDS by bong is one of those helpful homebrews that comes really handy when your DS is acting up and you don't know whether to just give it a kiss. LUA Button Tester and guideLUA Button Tester and guide
LUA Button Tester and guide The LUA Button Tester is a piece of homebrew that actually works two ways. First, it detects any button presses that you make on your PSP, allowing you to check if all of your PSP's buttons are in tip-top shape or if there's a problem with some of them. Second, it can be used as a guide for new LUA coders

Oy vey. It seems our read and write speeds are slowing down today, as we missed this new app mentioned on the Exophase forums by a couple of hours (or a lot... we never got the hang of checking timezones)
